Beware Spoofed Phone Numbers

Our members are once again receiving phone calls from Scammers pretending to be VEC. The calls are coming from numbers that on caller id show VEC phone numbers. This is called ‘spoofing’. The real number they are calling from is not visible and a number that you recognize (like VEC) is shown on the caller ID.
If you receive a call like this please call us back, don’t hit redial but actually punch in the number and verify. If possible get the scammers name and any information they will give you. You can also report them to the Federal Trade Commission or the Federal Communication Commission.
