Crews Working to Restore More Than 4,000 Outages
As of 10:13 a.m. (Eastern Time) Friday more than 4,000 VEC Customers remain without power. Crews worked throughout the night restoring power to more than 9,000 customers.
The highest concentration of remaining outages are in Bradley (1,903), Hamilton (1316), McMinn (289), and Meigs (251) counties, but scattered, isolated outages remain throughout Volunteer Energy Cooperative’s 17-county service district.
Crews are currently focusing mainly on high-concentration outages in order to restore power to as many customers as quickly as possible. Due to the extensive damage to VEC’s electricity distribution system, some customers’ ower may not be restored until tomorrow.
VEC apologizes for any inconveniences. Crews will remain on the job until power is restored to every VEC customer.
