VEC Crews Assist in Alabama Storm Recovery

Volunteer Energy Cooperative (VEC) sent several crews to Alabama for storm recovery this morning. Three VEC crews, two MPS crews (VEC contractors) and several Kendall right of way crews left the Cleveland VEC office at 7 a.m.

In total, there are more than 30 men, 10 trucks and other necessary equipment headed to Baldwin EMC. Baldwin EMC was hit very hard by Hurricane Sally. Immediately after the hurricane hit over 95% of their members were without power. According to their Facebook post, as of 9 a.m. on Thursday, they had 78,057 members without power.

VEC is part of the mutual aid program coordinated by Tennessee Electric Cooperative Association.
