VEC Preparing for Severe Weather
VEC crews and dispatchers are preparing for possible severe weather that could result in power outages. A line of severe weather that includes at least one confirmed tornado is being tracked Monday evening as it moves toward the VEC service area.
Crews are prepared to respond quickly to any affected areas.
Please be alert to possible weather emergencies and be prepared to move to safety.
If you lose power, please report your outage by telephone. VEC is not able to record outages reported via email, contact form or Facebook messages. If the telephone number that you are calling from is on file with VEC, you will not need to enter your account number to access the automated outage reporting system. If your telephone number is not on file and you do not have access to your VEC account number, please hold and the first available customer service representative will assist you. In the event of extensive outages, the wait may be longer.
Local service center numbers are available at http://vec.org/contact-us/
VEC’s Outage Management System (OMS) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems are able to record most outages even if you are not able to report it.
